BY SIMON NDIVE KALLA

Former pupils of Government School Mile I gathered under the banner of "Government School Old Boys and Girls Association" (GSMOBGA) have donated 20 benches to their alma mater and offered Cash Prizes to the First Three of Second Term Results.

The donation ceremony took place on Friday March 31, 2023 in the school campus at Mile 1.

Speaking during the event, the representative of the President of GSMOBGA, Ndengang Leonce Noumbi, said it was their first ever-official Alumni donation.

He emphasized that Government School Mile 1 Limbe has an ex-pupils association to boost the standards of the school which has developed them to be who they are today.

“These alumni have set a standard to which our pupils and fellow alumni can aspire.

They represent the life-changing impact of GS Mile One and the vicinity of Limbe. I also want to recognize our Association and its members who sponsored this event and worked so hard to make it successful. For more than 40 years, GS Mile One has provided exceptional and accessible education to the people of Limbe municipality.” Ndengang Leonce said.

He added that the primary school has been known for providing its pupils with an Arc-class education and a clear pathway or formation to a career which has produced people of all walks of life like accountants, businessmen, farmers, teachers, politicians, nurses, doctors, mechanics, taxi drivers, contractors, and entrepreneurs, among others.

Ndengang Leonce said their goal is to do more for their alma mater. He equally used the opportunity to call on all ex-pupils of GS Mile 1 to come out and support the school.

“We would also like to invite politicians, dignitaries in Limbe Municipality, and all supporters of education who believe that No child should be left behind, to support our initiatives. We want to partner with you to foster an environment for future leaders” Ndengang Leonce said.

Quizzed on the way forward after this donation, he said they will come back to help repair the roofs of some classrooms damaged by the wind.
