Fomunyoh Foundation calls on Limbe population to shun GBV

Fomunyoh Foundation,TFF, with other civil society groups in Fako Division have strongly condemned all forms of violence against women.


They made this clarion call during the activities of the 16 days activism campaign against Gender-based violence in Limbe. The campaign which started on Thursday November 25, 2021 ends Friday December 10.


The international day to end all forms of violence and discrimination against women is in line with November 1999 declaration by the UN to eradicate all forms of violence against women.


The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls. Tagged “Orange the world:End violence against women Now!”


In collaboration with the Divisional Delegate of the Women’s Empowerment and the family, TFF an partners visited schools, hospitals and other women associations to end violence against women. In partnership with the BOTFON Human Rights watch the Fomunyoh’s foundation visited the social Widows of Limbe.


During this occasion the delegation of the Fomunyoh’s foundation handed an undisclosed envelop to the women. The delegation also conveyed messages of hope to the widows from Dr. Fomunyoh Christopher, senior associate for Africa and Regional director at the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs. He is also the pioneer Executive of TFF.

The crew later visited Comprehensive College in Idenau. At the school campus Mudoh Walter coordinator of TFF for Fako, told the students of Hope Comprehensive that they have basic fundamental rights for education and that their presence in the school campus is to assure them that their future is a bright one.


“We condemn in strong terms all forms of violence and discrimination against girls and women, including torture and other cruel or degrading treatment” Mudoh Walter said in a statement.

Ndape Sally and Barrister Alice Luba both from TFF and BOTFON Human Rights Watch lectured the students on gender based violence, GBV. The advocacy ended in Idenua. With close to 150 women received lectures on the challenges women are facing on GBV especially with the armed conflict in the North and South West Region of Cameroon. The women pledged with TFF to work together and be each ones keeper to fight against GBV.
