Over sixty women and young girls from the Mbororo community in Fako Division in the South West Region of Cameroon had access to Peacebuilding, business coaching, leadership and communication skills, Sexual health and liquid soap manufacturing services. The training was carried out recently under the leadership of Mrs Zainab Abdullaihi, founder and CEO of the Daraja Reube Mbororo Development Association (DAREM).
Opening the session, Mrs Zainab said the project seeks to contribute to the conversation on peace and security in her community by empowering women and girls to become self-reliant and resent violent extremism. This came up as a result of DAREM’s mission to improve the living conditions of the Mbororo women displaced by the ongoing Anglophone crisis, climate change and environmental and health related issues imposed on them through natural and man-made causes.

Gaining access to technical, financial and entrepreneurial skills, these women will not only improve the financial management of their existing business schemes and other self-employment ventures,they will improve on their self-confidence and build resilient communities through their economic growth.
Different training modules ranging from simple bookkeeping, social media strategies for business, sexual and reproductive health care, conflict prevention and Peacebuilding to strengthened resilience, promote social cohesion and eliminate misinformation, disinformation and hate speech from their homes,schools and community.
These new breed of Peace Ambassadors from the Mbororo community in Fako Division all left with liquid soap made together during the training program at the Buea Central Mosque with a promise to train other women in their communities.
Present at the training workshop were Solidarity Health Foundation (Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights), BAWAC Cameroon (Peacebuilding, Communication and Leadership Development),FALCOH Foundation (Basic Bookkeeping and Business Coaching) and the representative of Minprof, Buea for technical support.
women's health is a very important component of their rights and economic empowerment. Access and liberty of choice for family planning, hygiene/sanitation constitute a package meticulously designed for the muslim female community in Buea.
The sexual and reproductive health rights framework and instruments was equally highlighted by mme ndefon beatrice, this enables the women know that reducing maternal and neonatal mortality is a fundamental human rights.
