CMA preparing to give late Buea Diocesan president befitting farewell

BY SIMON NDIVE KALLA

The National President Okie Johnson Ndoh on Friday September 10, 2021 paid a condolence visit to late Buea Diocesan president late Mr. Ngong Evaristus.

According to the national president Okie Johnson, when he learnt of the sudden departure of Ngong Evaristus it was like a blow to him and could not hold himself. He described Ngong as one of the most vibrant, devoted and committed CMA diocesan presidents in Cameroon.

“He died a holy man, he was one of those CMA diocesan presidents I talk with everyday, he was a lovely brother, father and friend. He brought the candle, light the candle, we have to keep the candle burning upon all the sacri-

fice he did because of the love.” Okie Johnson said.

He however urged other CMA members to copy his example, while emphasising that CMA will organise a befitting burial that will reflect his personality for his love and ambition for the group. Okie opined that late Ngong

Evaristus is in heaven interceding on their behalf.

The national president urged the family members to be strong in the midst of this trou- bled times and assured the family members that, it is their burial, they will engage themselves in whatever activities to bury him.

“The only thing I can tell the family is that, we are proud of him, to us he died as a saint. He has shown us he was really a member of St. Joseph, because he died peacefully without any stress. Imagine having been with fellow christians and the Bishop during meeting in Buea and later comes back to Limbe to celebrate his birthday organised by his children and he died, indeed he his in heaven”, Okie Johnson stated.

He revealed that, the corpse of late Evaristus will be laid at the national secretariat project site of the CMA in Buea where the Bishop of Buea, His Lordship Michael Bibi will officiate his funeral mass to pay homage to him for the contribution he rendered to the realisation of the project.

It should be noted that, Ngong Evaristus died on Saturday, September 4, 2021 while celebrating his 66th birthday at his residence in Limbe II Subdivision Botaland. As of now vari- ous CMA committees are at work to give one of theirs a befitting burial. The burial date according to family sources has been slated for October 16 in his native Menchum Division, wakekeep without corpse shall be on October 13 while the funeral mass at the secretariat site has been tentatively for Thursday, October 14, 2021.
