The Deputy British High Commissioner and Limbe Paramount Chiefdom have renewed bilateral ties.
The revelation was made on Saturday November 26, 2022, during a courtesy call to His Majesty Chief Elufa Manga Williams by the deputy British High Commissioner to Cameroon, H.E Nigel Holmes accompanied by Political and Programme Officer Cleatine A. Chungong.
According to the British Diplomat, relations between the two have always been smooth and cordial since the town was formerly called Victoria.
Quizzed about the timing of the declaration he said; “When I mentioned greater engagement, I'm opened in sharing ideals. I have heard from some dignitaries and notable about commercial connections and travel connections and other things.
“I really want to explore and strengthen the ties between the UK and Limbe,”
"Limbe is world known as a City of friendship. It is in this line I’m here today to represent British Government to renew relations and strengthen relations with Limbe," H.E Nigel Holmes explained.
He added that UK and Limbe have a well documented history and energies are been invested to strengthen ties between the two parties
Holmes was pleased with the reception accorded him and entourage by the Limbe royal stool during the courtesy call.
“It is my first time in Limbe and it’s a very pleasant location. I see the potential for tourism, Commerce and Development here. So, I’m very pleased to be here. I hope it not my last visit.” Holmes stated.
On his part HM Elufa John Manga Williams thanked the Deputy British High Commissioner for the constructive exchanges. He sees it as a sign of many good things to come not only to Limbe but Southwest as a whole.
Both men discussed several issues including economic, culture, infrastructure among others.
