The official launching of the Cameroon National Youth Day activities will take place in Idenau on Tuesday February 4, 2025 to be presided at by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou.
This information was disclosed on Wednesday January 22, 2025 by Fako Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, Viang Mekala during the first preparatory meeting ahead of the event at Limbe City Council Hall Down Beach.
Speaking during the event, Viang Mekala called on stakeholders to collectively support the organisation of this years 59th edition of the event.
“It will be an honour for me to host the launching of week long activities for this year’s National Youth Day by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou to take place in Idenau West Coast municipality” Viang Mekala said.
He called on Limbe City Mayor and Mayors of Limbe I, II and III Councils to keep their municipality clean as they welcome the Minister in the days ahead.
Viang Mekala insist that for this National Youth Day to record huge success just like the previous editions, it requires the support of every stakeholder.
The meeting witnessed the formation of committees including general coordination committee, finance, security, health, sports, communication, touch light, among others.
Fako SDO urged the committee chairpersons to hold committee meetings, come out with their respective action plans and budget to present during the next preparatory meeting to be attended by chairpersons and members of the general organising committee.
