Tankang Enanga Tina-Randa, 20-year-old accounting level 400 student of the University of Buea, UB, is Miss MEVCUDA 2022.
Enanga who hails from Manyu Division of the South West Region, was crowned winner of the beauty contest, held in prelude to the celebration of the 9th edition of Meveo Cultural and Development Association, MEVCUDA.
The event took place on Friday November 11, 2022 at Fini Hotel Bobende Limbe II Subdivision. The beautiful decor of the seaside view with a mixture of traditional and cultural setting flamboyant announced the 9th edition of MEVCUDA to kick-off on Tuesday November 15, 2022 with seminar at Eneo Ombe.
It was a long night full of nostalgia as over 300 spectators anxiously watched twenty five(25) beauty queens in the competition. The twenty five competitors came in five different passages. The constants parade and displaying traditional outfit, smiling and curling the judgment of six man jury.
The next stage of the contest blew a red signal as speculators became tensed. This time each contestant picked a paper in a ballot box and the juries asked her a question. The next stage each contestant had to express herself and present a project in English and answer two questions.
The crowd cheered contestants, the panel of jury headed by the General Manager of Seme Beach Limbe, Yann Anoko, declared Tankang Enanga winner of Miss MEVCUDA 2022. She bagged home the sum of three hundred thousand (300.000) FCFA.
The first runner up, Miss Atemjong Winnie Favour, student of Higher Institute of Profession Studies, HIPS, Buea age 21 grabs two hundred thousands (200.000). Meanwhile Miss Mbatchou Sheena Belle student of St. David’s Higher Institute of Nursing and Biomedical Studies Buea age 24 years, Master of Public Health emerged second runner up. She receives the sum of one hundred thousand(100.000) FCFA.
These cash prizes were also accompanied with gifts from sponsors. The rest of the seven constants received consolatory prizes.
Speaking shortly after the ceremony, Miss MEVCUDA 2022 thanked God for granting her victory at last with tears running down her cheeks Enanga said “A dream come-true”. She revealed that she has a project to prompt peace, sustainable development and social cohesion. “Young girls can be able to look up to me for aspiration and everything” Enanga added.
Present at the ceremony was, the Divisional Officer for Limbe II Subdivision Albert Serge Meke, representative of the Limbe City Mayor, the Chief of Mokunda, the Director of Bota District Hospital Bota, Divisional Delegate, service heads among others.
