The congregational chairperson of Presbyterian Church (PC) Mile 4 Limbe, who also serves as the Mayor of Limbe I Council, Mbwaye Eposi Florence, handed financial support to over 100 schoolchildren in Mile 4 on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Presbyterian Church Mile 4.

This gesture is part of her yearly donation to widows' children and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). The donation was handed to the schoolchildren with the hope that it will assist them in school.

“The children are not only children of PCC. We have children from the Catholic Church, Baptist Church, because I announced it to some other widows and their children were here. So, I am just grateful that all of them came." Mayor Mbwaye Eposi said.

Quizzed about the timely gesture, Mayor Mbwaye Eposi explained that, as a mother in Limbe I municipality, she has a passion for children. "I'm an educator and know the importance of education," she said, quoting Nelson Mandela: "The strongest weapon for change is to go to school." She added,

“I pray to do better next year, especially with the availability of means. Trust me, with God almighty, I shall put smiles on more faces next edition." Mayor Mbwaye Eposi said.

She urged the schoolchildren to take their academics seriously by devoting their time and avoiding distractions. Parents of the beneficiaries thanked her for the back-to-school financial support, citing the donation as timely amid economic hardships.

"I usually give books. But this time, looking at the time in October, I just thought that maybe some parents have already bought their books, and most parents have not paid their fees. So, I decided to give them physical cash, so that the parents can use it to pay part of their fees."

"I told the parents that they should take that money and go and pay part of the children's school fees, because I know it will not pay all the fees”,

“Some of the children pay 30,000 FCFA, 50,000 FCFA, and so on. I caution the parents, they should not take the money and go and buy Christmas dresses for them. The money is for education." Mayor Mbwaye Eposi said.

It should be noted that this is not Mayor Mbwaye Eposi's first initiative to promote education in Limbe I municipality since the start of the 2026/2027 academic year.

Last two week she donated over 120 schoolchildren in Limbe I Municipality with financial support for back-to-school.

Political pundits believe Mayor Mbwaye Eposi is the right person for upcoming municipal election in Limbe I municipality and that she will do more to develop Limbe I municipality with more opportunities.
