KNews team, is sincerely sorry for wrongfully stating in our previous post captioned, “Mayor Mbwaye Florence steps down as LCC Councillor”, she actually stepped down as provision of the law. It should be noted that, Mayor Mbwaye Florence was selected by the then Mayor, Late Ro-Danny Mbua, to be one of the City councillors.
The decision which was adopted by all 24 Councilors present at the extraordinary session followed a delibration table by Mayor Mbwaye Florence Eposi for councillor Bessi Andjorin to replaced her as City Councilor.
Now that she's been made Mayor, it is a natural thing for her to step down and give another councillor the opportunity to serve and give the Limbe I council, the rightful representation at the city council.

The decision which was adopted by all 24 Councilors present at the extraordinary session followed a delibration table by Mayor Mbwaye Florence Eposi for councilor Bessi Andjorin to replaced her as City Councilor.
The representative of the Divisional Delegate of Decentralisation and Local Development for Fako, reiterated that such a decision falls in line with the decentralisation law of December 2019 which disposes that for decisions guiding the replacement of a City Councilor as a result of death or resignation, the Subdivisional Council board should be notified within two months.
The first extraordinary session of the Limbe I Council equally adopted a delibration on allowances for the mayor and deputies, according to the decentralisation texts. Bonuses relating to water, telecom and electricity were deducted, but provision was made for a domestic servant and a security guard, as well as an increase in their entertainment allowances and furnishing of official residence .
The last issue which came under scrutiny by the Councillors was the standing orders of the session.
Talking to the press, the Mayor hinted that "not long ago I was a City Councilor at the Limbe City Council, when I was elected as the Mayor of Limbe I. Due to some personal reasons to meet up with my developmental dream of building a bigger and better Limbe I and to ensure continuity of service at the City Council, I thought I could just appoint someone to replaced me. I was however, called to order my MINDEVEL reminding me of the texts and the procedure.
"I really want to thank my Councillors for their sense of maturity in decision making as they all uninimously elected Councillor Bessi Andjorin to replaced me as a City Councillor. I salute their efforts of being so positive and walking on the same track of building a bigger and better Limbe, not only for ourselves, but for generations to come" she added.
The Council supervisory authority, the SDO for Fako represented by the first assistant SDO, Yefeo Maryline, saluted the cordial relationship between the Limbe I Council and the administration which he said was on a positive footing.
She used the opportunity to announce the presence of the third wave of the Covid-19 virus in Limbe which, according to health expert is more deadly and called on the councilors to act as ambassadors in their various communities.
